There are a lot of scholarships available for prospective college students, but unfortunately, many of them have strict guidelines that make them unreachable for many students. However, there are also many unusual scholarships for college.

The Tall Clubs International Scholarship is one unusual scholarships for college. It requires you to be 6’2 or taller if you’re a man, 5’10 or taller if you’re a woman, and to write an essay about “What Being Tall Means to Me, to possibly be qualified for a $1,000 scholarship.
In the opposite vein, The Billy Barty Foundation provides scholarships for people who are less than 4’10 and have proof of their dwarfism.
Unusual Scholarships for College
Another unusual scholarships for college is the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year award. This is awarded to twenty-five senior student athletes who have 3.20 GPAs and participate in school or club sports. The reward is $7,500, a trip to Disney World and a spot in a milk mustache ad.
If you can create prom outfits out of duct tape you could be eligible to win $3,000 from the Duck Brand Duct Tape Stuck on Prom Contest.
Interested in being a welder? American Welding Society Scholarships are available to those who are interested in welding or already welders. It will pay for further education in that area.
The Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship is available to vegetarian students who also promote vegetarianism in their high school or community. It is awarded in amounts of up to $5,000.
KLI Academic Award: The Kor Memorial Scholarship is a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Klingon Language Institute to help students in the field of language study. You do not, however, need to know Klingon to qualify.
The John Gatling Scholarship provides a full ride to North Carolina State University provided you meet one requirement: have the last name of Gatling or Gatlin.
The American Association of Candy Technologists Scholarship awards $5,000 to college sophomores, juniors and seniors who have a 3.0 GPA and are majoring in food science or something similar.
The Ayn Rand the Fountainhead Scholarship awards up to $10,000 to high school students in 11th or 12th grade. The requirement is simply to write the best essay on “The Fountainhead.”
Another unusual scholarships for college is the Hood College Heritage Scholarship awards $5,000 for a year to students who have a parent or grandparent that received a bachelor’s degree at Hood College.
If your last name is Zolp and you’re Catholic, you could be eligible for the Zolp Scholarship offered by Loyola University.
